In the Cultural Foundation Building, visitors can find a variety of hands-on activities for children and families and take home the original creations they make.
Many of these activities are scheduled workshops so visitors must exchange an Activity Pass at the Cultural Foundation Building’s Workshop Registration Counters, or any Information Point, for a place on the Workshop.
Pottery: Hand thrown pottery
Recommended Age: 6-13 years | Scheduled workshop | 45 minutes
Children are provided with clay and water and can learn how to mould their materials into a clay pot.
Pottery: Pottery painting for Children
Recommended Age: 2-8 years | Scheduled workshop | 45 minutes
Younger children are provided with a ready-made clay pot that they can paint however they want.
Traditional Toys: Dolls
Recommended Age: 8-15 years | Scheduled workshop | 45 minutes
Children are provided with a ready-made doll and an exciting selection of materials to create it’s features and clothing.
Traditional Toys: Cars
Recommended Age: 6-15 years | Scheduled workshop | 45 minutes
Children are provided with tin cans, bottle tops, MDF and aluminium and can make and decorate their own car from these materials.
Traditional Toys: Horses
Recommended Age: 6-11 years | Scheduled workshop | 45 minutes
Children can draw a horse’s head, cut it out and fix it on a stick to bring it to life.

Children can apply pre-designed blocks to paint in order to print their own bags.

Children can use a variety of cords and beads to create jewellery based on iconic structures like the Cultural Foundation Building Arches and Fort Tower. Children are encouraged to make a unique creation that suits their style and are given a beautiful bag to take their creation home in.

Children can learn the art of thread weaving from Bedouin women as they create designs to make authentic traditional attire.
Architecture: Paper Fort Model
Recommended Age: 6-13 years | Scheduled workshop | 45 minutes
Children can create the Qasr Al Hosn Fort from the cut out paper pieces guided by an activity card.
